This class runs 1/5-3/1 (Grades K-5) In this class, students will explore mechanisms and structural design through the use of LEGO® Technology. Through the investigation of simple and motorized machines, the use of gears and sensors, and through programming the robots they build, they will learn the basics of physics and the concepts behind real machines. They will build out of LEGO® bricks, investigate motorized machines, calibrate and capture wind, study gearing mechanisms, alternative energy, and more. The class is project and team-based, providing training and experience in teamwork and project management skills as well as training in mechanical engineering, problem solving and debugging, and presentation skills.
